Life is like a song
We were born singing the first song
To go further is to grow and become
Aware of the last song at sunset

But not yet, sunrise comes first
Like a morning glory obedient
To the photons that command it,
We waken each morning

To blossom into the joys of living
With every day like a refrain
And so we grow old,
Day by day,
To sing the evensong our lives have written
More and more aware now

Of the last song that awaits us
On the last day of our lives
But before that day
