Meet "Step Up Revolution" New Kid On The Block
Ryan Guzman
Ryan Guzman, The new star of Step Up Revolution, is ready to show what he's got on the big screen. The 24-year old Mexican-American born in San Francisco California didn't start out with dreams of acting. He worked as a Calvin Klein model in 2009.
Guzman was a mixed martial arts fighter and competed in various competitions before landing his first role in Step Up Revolution. With high hopes of becoming a professional baseball player while attending Sierra College and being a left-handed pitcher for the Yankees, before he hurt his arm and getting surgery, life went the other way and he had to venture out doing other things.
He fought to do his own stunts for his breakout role in Step Up Revolution. The producers were going to cast a body double for the dancing sequence and Ryan did not want a body double. He wanted to be in the movie. They had a three-week training period in Miami where the movie was filmed to learn all the choreography and he impressed the producers with his dedication and dance skills, and they nixed the body double.
Step Up Revolution hits theaters on July 27th
