Jeannette shares her tips on Makeup & Skin Care |
|
When I was in college getting a degree in advertising, I was scouted by a modeling agency in NY. I continued
my college education and I thought modeling would only be a part time temporary fun thing to do…
After graduating with my Degree in Advertising, to my suprise (I'm 5"5')The modeling opportunities kept increasing,
The money and extensive traveling was too hard to resist, needless to say I never persued my Advertising career.
A friend of mine, was store manager for Sephora ,she asked me if I would work part time for the
holidays to be a greeter and work the front of the store. I agreed , and in no time I was asked if I would like to
stay on and work as a makeup artist.. .While working at Sephora I started recieving jobs opportunitis as a freelance makeup artist for
fashion shoots ,weddings, small or big occasions and commercials. I presently continue doing both with no plans on slowing down yet!
A basic skincare routine can include the following steps:
● Cleanse
Use a gentle, non-foaming cleanser twice a day to remove dirt and toxins, and prevent clogged
pores.
● Moisturize
Use a light, hydrating moisturizer, especially if you have mature skin. You can also try a serum to
brighten, hydrate, or smooth your skin.
● Exfoliate
Use a scrub to remove dead skin cells and unclog pores, which can help other products
penetrate your skin more effectively.
● Tone
Use toner to remove oil or makeup residue, and to prepare your skin to absorb other products.
Toner can also help maintain your skin's pH balance
● Protect
Use sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or more to protect your skin from sun damage.
When creating your skincare routine, it's important to keep it balanced and avoid using products
that strip your skin, as this can cause it to produce more sebum. You can also choose products
designed for your skin type and age. For example, a vitamin C brightening serum can suit all skin
types and help reduce dark spots and hyperpigmentation.
For those with mild acne or any other skin irritants, consult a dermatologist, do not
try to treat your skin condition without understanding the underlying cause of the problem.
About Face Moisturizers
When it comes to face moisturizers, There's a few considerations that may influence your
purchasing decision. It’s important to note that, though many use the term interchangeably,
there is a difference between creams, lotions, and gels. Creams are the thickest and contain the
most oil. Lotions are thinner and contain more water and less oil than creams. Gel-based face
moisturizers are the thinnest; they may contain little oil or be oil-free. All can offer great hydrating
benefits, but creams are usually the most moisturizing.
How to Factor Skin Type and Face Moisturizers
Typically, someone with normal to dry skin may want to consider a cream, while those with oily or
combination skin may prefer a lotion or gel,but it’s as much a personal preference as anything else.
Focus only on face moisturizers for all skin types that offer the basic necessity: moisture. And yes,
oily skin needs face moisturizer, too.
My favorite skincare line is Aveeno- From the face wash, facial daily scrub to the moisturizer. I
keep it simple. With Makeup it's all about preference, and expressing your own personal style, some feel they want or need less
and some prefer to be full glam. No matter the age .There have been some guidelines made in
the beauty industry but in my opinion it's up to the individual. Rules have been broken. Example:
if you're doing a bold eye do a nude lip. Then you see it on a cover model and it looks amazing.
So with every trend there are going to be those that love it and those that don't. It is what makes
fashion and beauty an art form. My all time favorite makeup line is Loreayou can't go wrong with any of their makeuup products!
